World leader in Data Erasure and Destruction

Manual Hard Drive Degausser - V91 Max

Manual Hard Drive Degausser and Operated Backup Tape

The V91 HDD Max manual hard drive degausser is a second generation, high energy degausser for Hard Drive Destruction, especially designed for the cost effective, complete erasure of data from today’s high coercivity hard drives and tapes. With a 7000 gauss field, complete erasure is assured every time in as little as 12 seconds per hard drive or back-up tape.

The V91 HDD Max manual hard drive degausser is the ideal hard drive degausser for the low volume operator who wishes to have an effective yet low budget solution to eliminate magnetic media security risks and total Hard Drive Destruction

Media Handing:

Degausses all standard hard drives & all back up tapes

Standard PC, Laptop and Server 3.5", 2.5" & 1.8" Hard Drives. Longitudinal & perpendicular recording up to 2TB. All Drive interfaces IDE, SATA and Fibre Channel.

All Backup tapes including DLT,2,3,4,5,6 & SDLT, LTO1,2,3,4,5,6 & 7; 3480/3490/3490e, 3590, 9840 & T9940 & T10000 tape; Ultrium & Redwood SD-3 tape & cartridges; Mammoth 1 & 2, 8mm, AIT1 & 2,M2 tape; DDS 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5, DD-2

Erase Time

12 seconds typ.

Magnetic Force

7,000 Gauss

Throughput

20 hard drives / 40 back-up tapes per hour

The V91 HDD Max is simple to use.

For erasing Hard Drives the operator turns the security key to the “On” position and places the media on the top surface of the degausser. Pressing the red “Power” button turns on the magnetic field and the media is held in place for 3-5 seconds. Pressing the “Power” button turns off the magnetic field. The operator should then rotate the media 90° on the top of the degausser and repeat the process by applying the magnetic field for another 3-5 seconds. The media should then be flipped over and the process repeated making 4 degauss cycles in total. On completion of the fourth cycle , the media will be completely erased.

Transportation Case: An optional heavy-duty transportation case with wheels is available for the V91 Max, enabling you to safely transfer your degausser by road or air, ideal if you have a requirement to erase media at multiple locations. Click here for more information.

Like many of VS Security Products degaussers, V91 HDD Max comes with an impressive 36 month back to base, all parts and labor included warranty. Extended warranties also available. We are so confident in our product build quality that whether you opt for an extended warranty or not, our factory-based technical support team are available for free phone and email support. This support extends for the entire lifetime of ownership.

The V91 HDD Max is designed to help you comply with the following Government Mandates that require destruction of sensitive information stored on Hard Drives and Backup Tapes before their disposal.

  • PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry) Data Security Standard
  • PIPEDA (Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act)
  • NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) Guidelines for Media Sanitization NIST SP 800-88
  • NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) Guidelines for Media Sanitization NIST SP 800-36
  • Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA)
  • HIPAA (Health Information Portability and Accountability Act)
  • California SB-1386
  • IRS-1075
  • CJIS
  • Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)

With safety in mind and to meet the latest ICNIRP Magnetic Exposure Guidelines, the V91 HDD MAX’s field is concentrated near the top operational surface where the media is degaussed.
