Organisations in the broadcast industry and those responsible for data backup using magnetic tape reels, would use a degausser to erase data held on tape reels. Tape degaussing is used when reels are no longer needed or when they need to be re-used.

SV5000 CESG Approved conveyor Degausser
For the bulk degauss of high-density metal tapes and cassettes the performance of the SV5000 degausser will satisfy the requirements. Automatically controlled by an electric eye the reels, disks OR cassettes are placed on the wide conveyor belt where they are automatically passed through the 4000 Gauss field. Up to five thousand diskettes or five hundred VHS cassettes can be erased per hour.
